Al Qaeda: It’s Not a Country

I studied the Quran a great deal. I came away from that study with the conviction that by and large there have been few religions in the world as deadly to men as that of Muhammed.

At last finding a war they would contemplate fighting, liberals developed one of their most menacingly crackpot fictions: their insistence that we are engaged in a war against Al Queada, as if it is some independent nation with a flag, uniformed soldiers and a national anthem. If only, they spout, we could “get” their President, Osama bin Laden, our charismatic president could negotiate some kind of treaty with the Great Nation of Al Quedastan. Surely by showing proper deference to the great Religion of Peace, Obama will be able to win the hearts and minds of those who would saw our heads off. Always inane , liberals are willing to even countenance the killing of bin Laden, should he be captured. Not because it would be a public service, but because Bush didn’t do it. The sciolism of the Left leads them to assume that the dispatch of bin Laden would cause all Islamoterrorists to lay down their suicide belts, pack up their gear and go home to live lives of peace and prosperity, no doubt with bountiful reparation payments from the United States.
Al Qaeda is not a country. Nor is it a multinational corporation operating satellite offices worldwide. Islamoterrorists do not get orders from either central planning or corporate HQ. Yet the Left remains fixated on Al Qaeda as the sole source of terror in the world. If no direct link to Al Qaeda can be found, the liberal reasoning goes, it can’t be called terrorism. Just a bunch of wayward youths setting cars on fire and stoning women to death. A lack of multicultural sensitivity drives mothers to strap explosives to their children. Anything but Islam.
Al Qaeda is certainly a major player in Islamic terrorism providing training and petrodollars to terrorists world wide. But it is pure perversion to assert that all acts of terrorism are orchestrated by Al Qaeda. There are innumerable splinter groups and independent contractors acting without the direction and support of the big kahuna. In the terrorist community, Al Qaeda is the most august of all barbarous cliques. In terrorist coteries, Al Qaeda training is something akin to a degree from Columbia.
The menace is not exclusive to Afghanistan and it never was. Islamoterrorism is a world wide enterprise. Victor David Hanson wrote in 2006:
“ In Somalia, jihadists, with the support of al-Qaida, have clashed with troops loyal to the country’s internationally recognized interim government and now threaten neighboring Ethiopia with all-out war.
Nearby in Darfur, Muslim militiamen called janjaweed are waging genocide against black Christian and animist villagers — apparently with the consent of the Sudanese government.
Shiite and Sunni militias, each claiming to represent true Islam, keep slaughtering each other in Iraq.
Hezbollah (“Party of God”) seeks to destroy democracy in Lebanon by provoking Israel, which it is sworn to eliminate.
On the West Bank, Hamas and Fatah have taken a timeout from their attacks on Israel to murder each other and innocent bystanders.
The Iranian Shiite theocracy — when not hosting Holocaust deniers or sending terrorists into Iraq — issues serial pledges to finish off Israel.
The shaky Pakistani leadership pleads that it can neither target Osama bin Laden nor stop Taliban jihadists hiding out in the remote regions of Pakistan from streaming back into Afghanistan.
In Europe, opera producers, novelists, cartoonists and filmmakers are increasingly circumspect out of fear of death threats from Islamists.
While each conflict is unique and rooted in its own history, the common thread — radical Islam — is obvious.”
Contrary to what the PC Police insist, the Religion of Peace has not been co-opted by a smattering of cut throats. Nor is violence against infidels the result of a misinterpretation of the Koran. Islam is singular in that it has its own theology, ideology and legal system that dictates warfare against non-believers. Violence against non Muslims is called for in the Koran and the Hadith repeatedly:
Allah himself fights against the unbelievers (9:30), so why should Muslims not fight in his cause rather than in the cause of evil (4:76)? About 19% of the Qur’an is devoted to the violent conquest and subjugation of non-Muslims:
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides, whom ye may not know (8:60)
Strive hard (Jihad) against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed. (66:9, See also 9:73)
Allah provides instructions to Muslims for dealing with unbelievers who are unwilling to accept Islamic rule:
Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): “I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.” This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment. (8:12-13)
It’s not distortions of the Koran that should alarm us, but rather a faithful assimilation of it.
In the wake of the Islamoterrorist attack on Ft. Hood by home grown jihadi, Major Nidal Hasan, liberals really debased themselves by trying to collimate Hassan’s act of terrorism with Timothy McVeigh’s attack in Oklahoma and Scott Roeder’s, murder of abortion doctor George Tiller. Not mentioned was the killing of a soldier at the Arkansas recruiting station last June. The shooter, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe, was a convert to Islam. At the time of the killing, even CNN was willing to acknowledge that investigators believed there were “political and religious motives” in the shooting.
If Christian extremists are every bit as menacing as Muslim extremists, they are the most maladroit posse of terrorists in the word. The stats show that in the field of terrorism, Muslims are nonpareil.

What the media calls Political Correctness, Robert Spencer calls the international jihad against free speech (Stealth Jihad). The suppression of any criticism of Islam is one facet of what Spencer calls the stealth jihad. By any measure, it’s been ferociously effective in Europe; and the Obama administration is resolute in its ambitious to bowdlerize any free speech not in service of its agenda.
Obama and Eric Holder would never be able bring about anything as pernicious as moving the trials of enemy combatants to the United States if not for the mendacious perseverations being spewed by the media.
There is no rational basis to try these terrorists in the US. The current administration seeks no justice. The left doesn’t care about justice, they merely want to put George Bush, Dick Cheney and the CIA on trial.
