America Attacked on Christmas-Obama Votes Absent

The United States of America was attacked by  radical Muslims on Christmas Day.  The Islamic extremist, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, armed with a powerful explosive, managed to set the wall of a commercial airliner on fire.

Bill Durpay from the Patriot Room: “You see, when the only thing that prevents an airliner from blowing up is the fact that the detonator went bad, unless the government supplied the terrorist with the bad detonator, from a security standpoint, the plane was as good as lost commercial airliner on fire.”

The media is obstinately proclaiming the incident to be a “failed” terrorist attack.  The strike  didn’t fail, a detonator did.  Perhaps al Qaeda studied bomb making notes from Obama’s  bumbling terrorist friend, Bill Ayers .  It would appear that the weakest leak in the security chain this time was Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria.    The Nigerian airport staff isn’t overly concerned with our watch lists and were compassionate enough to allow little lord Abdulmutallab to board an international flight without a passport.

Abdulmutallab’s father, a Nigerian banker, went to the U.S. embassy in Abjua Nigeria to apprise officials of his son’s jihadism.  Secretary of State  Hillary Clinton  evidently deduced that the banker was the rascal sending out all of those irksome Nigerian banker emails, and  the State Department couldn’t be bothered to investigate.

Abdulmutallab threw off an astounding number of flares that were overlooked.  Thus  he was able to park himself over the plane’s fuel tank to beget maximum carnage.  Ideally, from the Islamic terrorist position, the plane would erupt with sufficient force to scatter debris in all directions, causing additional  fatalities  on the ground.

A few days later, the President of the United States belatedly commented on the bombing attack by making the preposterous assertion that the jihadi is an “isolated extremist”, blithely overlooking the fact that the bomber trained in Yemen.

“The Associated Press, quoting a Yemeni government official, said Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab lived in Yemen for two extended periods of time — a year, from 2004-2005 and again from August-December this year. He apparently was in Yemen a few weeks before the attempt to blow Flight 253 out of the sky over Michigan.”

“A statement posted online Monday by Al-Qaeda in Yemen (also known as al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) said its ‘manufacturing sector’ had provided Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab with the explosives he took onboard the aircraft. (The United States has not yet authenticated the Web posting, but Abdulmutallab’s connection to Yemen is not in doubt.)”

Obama and his accomplices continue to refer to Abdulmutallab as the “alleged” bomber as if he had just been picked out of a line up on suspicion of robbery.

“Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) told ABC News it looks like al-Awlaki ‘played a role’ in the attempt to bomb Flight 253. ‘All roads point back to Yemen, they point back to Awlaki, I think it is a pretty deadly combination,’ Hoekstra told ABC’s The Blotter.”

The administration is making it clear that terrorists are to be treated as a law enforcement problem.

While you were busy with holiday preparations and screaming in horror as the Politburo met behind closed doors to wreck the health care system; Obama quietly returned  twelve Gitmo detainees to their homelands including Yemen.

The US just transferred 12 detainees from its Guantanamo Bay prison camp to Afghanistan, Yemen and the Somaliland region, the Justice Department says.   Six Yemenis, four Afghans and two Somali detainees were sent to their homelands.  Perhaps this isn’t the ideal time to be sending terrorists to Yemen for their jihadi Continuing Education credits.

This is especially appalling when we consider that two of Abdulmutallab’s colleagues were released from Gitmo in 2007  and sent to Saudi Arabia and are now top Al Qaeda operatives.

The Obama administration will deal with the bombing by subjecting millions of innocent travelers to increasing humiliating time consuming and altogether worthless security harassment at airports.

The combined incompetence of top members of Obama’s government enabled the terrorist to successfully carry out his mission.  The body count was not what he’d hoped, but make no mistake, the attack on Christmas Day was a success for the bad guys.

Our multi culti fixated government is far more concerned about showing any lack of cultural sensitivity than it is about keeping America safe.  Providing for national security is actually one of the few powers the government does have under the Constitution.

Our government would rather punish whistleblowers than face the unpleasant reality that radical Islamists are hell bent on slaughtering us all.

Barbara Hollingsworth reports in the Washington Examiner:

“The close call in Detroit on Christmas Day has vindicated a group of highly experienced experts — including former airline pilots, federal air marshals and Federal Aviation Administration inspectors — who were fired or demoted for pointing out obvious flaws in the nation’s post-9/11 aviation security system to their chain of command.

Even now, facing financial ruin after their careers were trashed and their families destroyed, courageous members of the Whistleblowing Airline Employees Association refuse to be silenced. “ This should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside:

“Former TSA Red Team Leader Bogdan Dzakovic, one of the world’s top experts on aviation security, was demoted to human answering machine after he testified at the 9/11 Commission’s second hearing that safety issues were still not being addressed.”

“The few brave souls who lost everything to warn Americans of the ever-present danger in the skies have been kicked to the curb, while those who failed to perform the Department of Homeland Security’s core mission — led by Secretary Janet Napolitano and her claim that ‘the system worked’ in the Detroit incident — continue to collect their government paychecks, aided and abetted by an irresponsible Congress.”

Thus the few Americans who still have jobs will find business travel intolerable due to senseless screening procedures that don’t work.

“As Robert Spencer, author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, told The Examiner: ‘In reality, nothing worked. … All the stupid and humiliating airport security procedures, all the little Baggies for toothpaste and shampoo, all the padding through the security scanner in stocking feet didn’t work.’”

“The dirty and dangerous secret about airline security is that it’s all just political theater designed to calm passengers’ very real fears. If the system allows a young, radicalized Islamist known to U.S. authorities to board a plane with 80 grams of pentaerythritol tetranitrate sewn into his pants, nobody is safe.”

America is getting a bit ticked off at the Obama administration.  Obama can’t move fast enough to take over private businesses and force oppressive legislation on us, while wrecking the economy.    But, Islamic terrorism is a back burner issue for Obama.  If Napolitano had put as much enthusiasm into defending us against jihad as she does tracking tea party attendees, perhaps the country would be safer.

Rational Americans have long been livid about Islamic terrorism.  The American people are starting to feel more animosity toward their own government than to our external enemies.
