Obama’s Dover Device
Astonishing though it may be, there are Americans who actually believe that Barack Obama’s vist to Dover was an authentic expression of concern for our troops and empathy for their loved ones.
Of all the Obama fabrications, this has to be one of the more preposterous.
The Narcissist in Chief was not showing empathy because he doesn’t have any.
His cavernous lack of empathy becomes more obvious as his presidency rolls on. It could hardly be called empathic behavior when Obama decided to drop all charges against Cole bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri before Obama’s scheduled meeting with the families of the Cole victims.
Obama’s plan to reduce tax deductions for charitable donations was not an idea born out of compassion for his fellow Americans.
President Obama’s scheme to reduce medical coverage to wounded veterans was dropped after appropriate public outrage. But the question remains:
what kind of man even proposes such a thing? The amount of revenue saved by such a measure would be minuscule while this president has no compunctions about spending staggering sums on worthless programs. One has to consider what is in the soul of a human being who would deprive our wounded heroes of their medical benefits. Now we’re supposed to believe that the Commander in Chief who has been dithering since August 30th as our generals plead for help is deeply concerned about the welfare of our men and women in uniform?
Where was all of that compassion during the campaign when candidate Obama blew off the wounded soldiers hospitalized at Landstuhl? Absent a good photo op, he couldn’t be bothered. Obama lost interest when he learned that Penatagon rules would bar him from turning the visit into a stump stop.
I expect this sort of behavior from the Don’t -Call -it- Victory president, but I also expected more Americans to have figured this guy out by now. He’s not especially complex, as I point out in Obamanutz.
Obama’s real agenda in Dover had nothing to do with showing support for our military. He is, however hoping to benefit from visual images of an increasing casket count. As the coffins stack up, he’s hoping that public support for a troop surge in Afghanistan will wane.
Obmama’s boss, Nazi collaborator George Soros, wants troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq; thus Obama has to try to convince the American public that the war is unwinnable and just too dangerous.
We know Obama thinks we’re stupid, but why is anyone buying into this shameless contrivance? If Obama had a scintilla of respect for our troops and their families, he would give his commanders on the ground the resources they need to win the war. Showing a little respect for General McChyrstal would be an excellent place to start.
Liz Cheney nailed it when she said that if Obama wants to show concern for the military he needs to prove it by winning the war.
Americans are the most compassionate people on the planet. We reaffirm that during every natural disaster. Note that Obama ignores most genuine tragedies without remark. It’s unimaginable to many Americans that anyone could be so ruthless as to use fallen soldiers for nefarious political purposes. Obama’s team is counting on that.
