I must ask, have any of you actually read anything about the Venona papers? Not only do they NOT vindicate McCarthy, they actually vindicate his detractors. Because the only thing that the Venona papers proved here was that there were, in fact, Communist spies in the US government. We already knew that. What it also shows is that, out of the 159 or so people that McCarthy threw out accusations about, less than 10 of them were named in the papers. What about the other 150? McCarthy was using circumstances to solidfy his own pwoer and so lied about dozens and dozens and dozens of people. He operated with a reckless disregard for due process and factual evidence. He was an enemy of freedom.

Here is another, relatively long-standing website that shows McCarthy in the true light of what he actually was and what he attempted to do. It also shows how he was continually attacked. Perhaps this is the first time the Media felt its power and this power led to the time when, with Nixon, the Media tasted blood. From there, it could only get worse, as far as the Media was concerned. This marking of McCarthy and by using the term McCarthism it has become a “take it like it is” form of given. Being termed McCarthylike or saying something is McCarthism is akin to declaring that the argument is over — as far as a Lefty is concerned.

that’s great that Beck is waking up to some “New INTEL”–lol, he’s like a continual three years behind on his truth exposes but the ppl luv him. Whatever. What about his boss? He’s on Fox. Ruppert Murdoch. Saudi prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. Rotana. He’s still censored and limited on what he’s allowed to report on.The thing is people can find this stuff out on their own they don’t need to be beckwashed– he’s on a constant disaster high, or next ‘movement/book release’ high…to a.d.d for me.

What a load of drivel. Next we will learn that the Seattle witch hunts were necessary to protect America from paganism and witchcraft.

Outstanding article, a great read. My father told me all about Tail Gunner Joe when I was a kid after we had watched the movie, Big Jim McClain. He impressed upon me the importance of the work performed by the Dies Committee and how great a man Senator McCarthy was.

If you are not familiar with Big Jim McClain the movie stared John Wayne and James Arness. They were investigators who worked for the Dies Committee sent to Hawaii to investigate and expose the infiltration and influence of the Communist Party as related to labor unions.
