BP: Obama’s Favorite Oil Company

BP, whose blown oil rig is currently spewing millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico has given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years.

The number one recipient of their largesse–Barack Obama.  You remember him, they demonizer of oil companies who would never, ever take money from one of those evil cabals.

As reported in Politico, the Hypocrite in Chief scored $77,051 during his presidential campaign:

During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.

BP also spent $15.9 million on lobbying as it tried to influence energy policy.
