Like nobody saw this coming. The nation’s most famous bureaucrat is going to sue citizen journalist, Andrew Breitbart for releasing an actual video of the actual plaintiff actually addressing the actual NAACP.
Now that Shirely Sherrod has evolved into a public figure, the standard for any form of libel is pretty high.
But what the hell are her damages? She can have her old job back anytime she wants it. Or she can have a specially created, tax payer funded super deluxo cushy job doing pretty much whatever she wants to do.
One element of a cause of action for libel is damages. How has she been financially harmed by any of this?
Perhpas Sherrod expects her good litigation luck to hold. A group she helped found won $13 million against the federal government just last year in the Pigford case. Sherrod and her husband pocketed $150,000 for their “pain and suffering”.
Saint Shirley of Sherrod’s halo is looking a tad tarnished already.
