		<description>Good piece, Joy.  I&#039;ve long understood who the real racists are, but thanks to Chris Matthews for illustrating it so nicely. Funny, I never think about Obama&#039;s race, except once in a while when I wish he were the kind of man his marketers and media told us he was. How great would that be.

Interestingly (to me, at least), when he was elected I told my kids it was a great day for America. They received that skeptically since I&#039;d spent the last few months campaigning against him, but I insisted it was true. Just a generation after African Americans were physically attacked for trying to vote, we had elected one to the highest post in the land. That was the first and last time I thought of Obama in terms of race.</description>
