Judge Susan Bolton has granted a partial injunction against the state of Arizona to block enforcement of SB 1070–a well crafted law that would make crime illegal.
Judge Bolton has enjoined the portion of the law that requires police officer to determine immigration status of anyone detained or arrested and struck down the section of the law that makes it a crime to fail to carry immigration papers. Those of us who are here legally will, of course, still have to carry ID with us at all times.
The Clinton appointee also knocked out the portion of the law making it a crime for an illegal immigrant to work.
