This is what happens when liberals get control of the government-it becomes Animal House.  From Eric Massa’s tickle parties dominating the news cycle for days to Patrick Kennedy’s deranged tirade on the House floor about the “media” or voices in his head or something. 

Americans tend to have short memories, which is the only reason liberals ever get power at all.  This time, the assurance that liberals will be out of ascendancy  for a decade or two is the aptly named “Slaughter Solution.”  It’s not that liberals have finally cultivated  a sense of irony-the “solution” is named for Louise Slaughter, whose district is plagued by ill-fitting dentures purloined from the deceased.

Americans oppose the Democrats’ health care horror by a margin of 3 to 1,  while Democrat approval ratings sink like Chicago cement shoes;  Democrat leadership has brewed up a grotesque and wholly unconstitutional scheme to get this catastrophe made into law.

With the public, the Constitution, and the House rules against them, Democrats will fall back on their customary protocol of simply changing the rules to suit their purposes.  You’ll note, this is the same tactic employed by children on playgrounds everywhere.

“In the Slaughter Solution, the rule would declare that the House ‘deems’ the Senate version of Obamacare to have been passed by the House. House members would still have to vote on whether to accept the rule, but they would then be able to say they only voted for a rule, not for the bill itself.” 

Brilliant in its simplicity!  Knowing that the votes to pass this affliction are not currently available and the clock running out, Congress will simply “deem” by diabolism that the Senate bill is hereby passed without a vote.

Abusing the budget reconciliation process would require that the House pass the Senate bill with no changes.  That means the  Cornhusker Kickback and Louisiana purchase have to be in the final law signed by the President.

Thus, those in Congress who have a few problems with the Senate bill, such as the abortion language, have to swallow the thing choate and then trust that their fellow Democrats will pass something later to “fix” the objectionable parts.

What, now we find out that lying libs can’t trust each other?

Congress does not have the Constitutional authority to “deem” a bill passed.  Of course, the current government doesn’t bother itself much about the Constitution unless it’s to denounce Republicans for violating it by refusing to force taxpayers to pay for abortions.

If Nancy Pelosi had the votes to pass this outrage, she would take to it the floor.  As of this moment, she doesn’t have them.  As time goes by, she is far more likely to lose votes than pick them up. 

That doesn’t make us safe.  As long as Americans allow liberals to run the government, we have to expect all manner of banana republic overreaching to take our liberties by compulsion.  If we miraculously dodge the bullet on health crimes,  they plan to resurrect cap and tax along with amnesty.

Republicans need to stand strong-they can’t stop these reprobates, but they can prove themselves to be the party of Hell, no! when it comes to stripping us of our Constitutional rights.  Americans will remember that in November.
