Janet Napolitano: Making Mineta Look Competent

The  Obama administration is consumed with categorizing  everything it does as “historic” and “unprecedented”.  Both are technically true:  Obama’s policies are creating ruinations never  before imaginable, and there certainly is no precedent for any of the administration’s unconstitutional power grabs.

Obama has yet again accomplished what once would have seemed utterly impossible:  making Norman Mineta seem conscious;  but only by comparison to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary, Janet Napolitano.

Former Transportation Secretary, Norman Mineta was a holdover from the Clinton administration.  President Bush  had a terrifying  inclination to pursue “bipartisanship” and kept some of the dregs from the Clinton years;  Mineta being among the most dangerous.

Immediately after the 9/11 attacks on the United States, Mineta sprung into action and mapped out his priorities:

“On Sept. 21, as the remains of thousands of Americans lay smoldering at Ground Zero, Mineta fired off a letter to all U.S. airlines forbidding them from implementing the one security measure that would have prevented 9/11: subjecting Middle Eastern passengers to an added degree of pre-flight scrutiny. He sternly reminded the airlines that it was illegal to discriminate against passengers based on their race, color, national or ethnic origin, or religion.” 

To show the world that the United States meant business and was pulling out all  the stops to fight racial profiling, the Department began filing complaints against airlines suspected of subjecting potential terrorists to greater scrutiny than grandmas and soccer moms.

Norman Mineta with Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes:

“Kroft noted that of 22 people on the most-wanted list right now: ‘(A)ll but one of them has complexion listed as olive. They all have dark hair and brown eyes. And more than half of them have the name Mohammed.” (They are also all males in their 20s and 30s.) Thus, he asked Mineta if such people should be subjected to a little extra scrutiny. ‘No,’ Mineta responded, ‘not just on that basis alone.’” 

The delusion that once Obama was installed into the White House, Islamic terrorists would stop trying to kill us may have been what compelled him to appoint a Department of Homeland secretary as awe-inspiringly  imbecilic and incompetent as Janet Napolitano.  Hey, just toss that job  to some crony who has a favor coming, we have nothing to fear from the terrorists, we gave them their favorite candidate.  Obama promised to change the way the world sees America and that is the one campaign promise he has kept.

The world, most especially the radical Muslim world, now see the United States as having the security capabilities of the Keystone Kops.

Once appointed, Napolitano wasted no time infecting the narrative with such asinine contrivances as euphemizing terrorism into “man caused disasters”.  She followed this devise by targeting Tea Party attendees and military veterans as grave national security threats.

“DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has turned her attention away from acts of Islamic jihad on American soil (which she now refers to as ‘man-caused disasters’). Instead, her department is sounding the alarm over an un-quantified ‘resurgence’ in ‘rightwing extremism activity.”’On April 7, DHS sent a nine-page warning memo to law enforcement offices across the country titled ‘Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.’” 

It should be no surprise that following an attack on Christmas Day by a Muslim extremist, Napolitano unabashedly offered up the terrorist strike on a commercial airliner as proof that the system “worked.”

It worked remarkably well for Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who effortlessly breezed in from Nigeria with a high powered explosive.  The warning signs that Napolitano’s uber efficient system missed were overwhelming, including desperate pleas from his own father to keep Abdulmutallab off of commercial airplanes.

Evidently, Abdulmutallab’s name was on some kind of list; but, he had yet to earn his place on the official no-fly list.  Could someone please check and see if he’s on it now?

A reporter asked  the boorish Robert Gibbs about watching terrorists.  Gibbs whined that it’s a really big list and surely the administration can’t be expected to watch all 500,000 of them.

Napolitano’s DHS can’t monitor 500,000 savage barbarians who want to slaughter every  non-Muslim American man, woman and child.  Perhaps they could outsource homeland security to FedEx;  they manage to keep track of three million or so parcels every day all over the world without many major screw ups.

Upon the news that the humiliating and time consuming searches at airports can now be declared as utterly ineffective, rational minds turn to the obvious solution:  profiling.  Of course, this administration will have none of that.  Better thousands of innocent Americans die than risk offending Muslims and touching off that legendary Muslim rage.

Forcing passengers to sit nicely with their hands in their laps on airplanes is even more sophomoric than Kathleen Sebelius, yet another Obama administration treasure, instructing us as to how to blow our noses into our sleeves to prevent Swine Flu.  By the way, what exactly qualifies Sebelius to run our public health?

Ann Coulter points out the excruciatingly obvious:

“Since Muslims took down Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988, every attack on a commercial airliner has been committed by foreign-born Muslim men with the same hair color, eye color and skin color. Half of them have been named Mohammed.” 

Brigette Gabriel warns that the government’s newly announced “country of origin” profiling will be swiftly defeated by terrorists: 

“I know how they are going to beat the system. The new rules of screening all people from named countries such as Iran, Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon and others are going to prove useless as hundreds of thousands of people from such countries live all over the West and have dual citizenships. Lebanese, Syrians and others who have British, American, Australian or other Western citizenship are going to enter Western countries using their western passports. They will use their original passports to travel within the Arab world. My friends from all over the Arabic world do it all the time.” 

Gabriel advises that the TSA must immediately upgrade its training of screeners to include the ideology of Jihad so they can start asking the right questions. This administration has an acute aversion to common sense.  Thus, we shouldn’t get our hopes up that those who fit the profile of Islamic terrorists may be subject to a few extra questions at the airport.  While the pundits are all atwitter about getting body scanners in airports; be aware that the one group who will absolutely refuse to be screened by body scanners are Muslims.

Well versed in the weapon of law fare and the fustian  nature of the president, CAIR and other criminal enterprises will be caterwauling about TSA violating their women.  Everyone knows that Muslim extremists love to pamper their women .  Law suits will ensue to ensure what little resolve our government may have is snuffed out.

We’re going to need a Todd Beamer or brave Dutchman, Jasper Schuringa on every flight.
