Lech Walensa Jumps into Illinois Politics
Sufficiently alarmed by Obama’s perilous policies, anti-communist Polish hero, Lech Walensa is wading into the cesspool of Illinois politics. Big Government has announced that Walensa will be traveling to Chicago to campaign for the republican candidate for governor.
“In an exclusive, Big Government has obtained a letter addressed by Nobel Prize Winner and anti-Communist hero Lech Walesa to the people of Illinois, endorsing Adam Andrzejewski, Republican candidate for Governor.”
Mr. Walesa will be in Chicago this week to campaign for Mr. Andrzejewski. The primary election is Tuesday, February 2nd. The endorsement from Walesa may actually mean something to Illinois voters. Illinois is home not only to a large number of Polish-Americans, but a large number of voters from throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
There is no clear frontrunner in the crowded field of candidates. Most of those in the race have deep ties to the Illinois Republican establishment, which isn’t the best qualification in the current climate. In the closing days of the campaign, the race seems wide-open.
Big Government has also learned that several tea party organizations, both in Illinois and out of state, are mobilizing their members behind Andrzejewski. This could be one to watch next week.”
Walensa’s letter to the people of Illinois:
“To the People of the Great State of Illinois:
It is with great pleasure that I wholeheartedly endorse Adam Andrzejewski for the office of Governor of the State of Illinois. In writing these words I feel particularly touched because, sadly, it is so seldom in the United States that a Polish son becomes involved in politics. But I do not endorse Adam only because of his Polish roots.
I applaud Mr. Andrzejewski’s commendable effort to bring real reform to politics. His insistence on transparency in public life are badly needed not only in the great state of Illinois, but in any democracy. I have heard that Adam’s opponents criticize his lack of political experience. I still remember when some 30 years ago, my opponents were similarly critical of my lack of political background. History has shown, however, that in order to create real change, new factors are sometimes necessary. Adam Andrzejewski can be that factor for the State of Illinois.
I do hope, that what Adam Andrzejewski can bring change when elected for the office of Governor of the State of Illinois.”
With any luck, Obama will be hitting the trail to stump for Adrezejewski’s opponent, thus ensuring another republican victory.
