Michelle Malkin: Time to Go Spartacus

Michelle wants businesses to show their solidarity with Henry Waxman’s latest victims of his Stalinesque witch hunt:

“It’s time for an ‘I am Spartacus’ moment in response to Henry Waxman’s witch hunt against businesses who call attention to the massive financial consequences of Demcare.”

“You remember the famous scene in the Kirk Douglas epic — when recaptured slaves are asked to rat on Spartacus in exchange for leniency, and instead stand up and proclaim themselves to be Spartacus at risk of their own lives:”

One of Michelle’s astute reader proposes a bit of reverse demagoguery:

“Reader Joe H. e-mails: ‘This is a golden opportunity to reverse-demagogue this hideous clown. Every publicly held company that is required to disclose the ruinous financial effects of Obamacare should do so and queue up for the show-trial. What a beautiful scene. Company after company standing in front of the cameras with…signs showing huge, unprecedented cost problems.’”

We’re getting a bit weary of corporate  execs who show up on bended knee at these revolting show trials.  We’re growing even more weary of big business donating wads of cash to Democrats who still find a way to saddle Republicans with the images of Wall Street corruption.

Big business went over to the dark side years ago.  While it’s tempting to let them fall on their own swords, caving in to demands of bully tyrants will do the country no good.

Sooner or later, corporate America is going to figure out that the Democrats are not their friends.

Meanwhile,  let’s see them stand together in opposition to this out of control oligarchy.
